Swedish students rejected at Danish border

Six students and a teacher were rejected at the border trying to enter Denmark.

Six students and a teacher tried to get to Denmark to participate in a workshop at KlimaForum09. They were all stopped by the police at the border and were asked to identify themselves. The police was very curious about where the students were going to stay during their visit to Denmark. After that they started to going through the students' luggage, a calendar, a female student had her personal calendar and diary read through by a police officer. Encountering an obvious joke about parties, sex and drugs in the calendar, the police got suspicious and commented on the nature of the student's activities.

One of the students had earlier been arrested for a minor offence, for which the trial hasn't finished yet. The police used the arrest as an excuse to reject the whole group and made them all sign a document that they weren't allowed to read through before signing.

However, reports from other Swedish travellers indicate that it's still possible to get in to Denmark without encountering police at the border.
