[de] This morning at 10am climate activists gathered at Nytorv to take part in the Don't Buy the Lie march to take direct action in protest against corporations taking part in Cop15 [report].  Leading police a merry dance, protestors moved en masse up Rosenørns Allé to the Copenhagen 'Forum' venue, which is hosting the cynical green-washing Green Business expo during Cop15. The message to the corporations was to stop turning the saving of our environment into yet another business opportunity in which carbon credit trading, tar sands and CCS are the order of the day.

People were blocked several times by police but also managed to push through and around several attempts by police to block their path. In total there is reported to be over 60 arrests, although it is unclear how many are just preventitive arrests where the people will be released after up to 12 hours. What is clear is that police targetted the Street Medics, arresting 11 of them before the demonstration, and threatening that they would be deported if they were found on the streets again [report]. Many activists were stopped and searched outside the convergence centre / sleeping space at Ragnhildesgade [photos]. There were also several reports of people being searched throughout the city [2], with some arrested for having things like spray paint or items that could be used to cover faces. Earlier in the day the fire service also told Ragnhildsgade accommodation space that part of the building could not be used for sleeping. Meanwhile more people are travelling to Copenhagen ahead of the other protests and events scheduled for the next week.

This morning at 10AM climate activists gathered at Nytorv, one of the main squares next to the City Hall in the middle of Copenhagen's City district to take part in the Don't Buy the Lie march to take direct action in protest against corporations taking part in COP15.

There were initially around 200 activists growing to around 800 by 11AM when the police announced that the demonstration should be disbanded and began to encircle them. The protestors started to disperse and moved to Vesterport Statition, where police again tried to encircle them. The protestors then moved in a broken formation en masse up Rosenørns Allé to be joined by fellow activists arriving on the Metro at the Copenhagen Forum, which is hosting a Green Business expo during COP15.

At Rosenørns Alle, police were initially blocking the protestors' access to the Forum but then began withdrawing to allow people forward. There were around 500 people at the Forum and a samba band playing. There was been some pushing as police try to stop people moving around. 

At this juncture protestors started jogging around to confuse the police, then the main body moved down H.C. Ørsteds Vej and continued to jog/run at a fast pace (losing some activists along the way who could not keep up) to end up on Dronning Louises Bro (Dronning Louise's Bridge) on the way into the main City quarter, where police penned in around 100-200 protestors on the bridge from both sides [tumblepic] with approximately another 100 trapped on the West side. There were reports of protestors who left the march along the way being stopped and searched by police.

After a while, the police allowed people to disperse and leave the demonstration. Police brought out dogs, but seemingly more to intimate activists rather than with the intention of using them. At this point protestors decided to call it a day.

at the beginning of the demo,there was probably as many journalists as activists. quite bizarre IMO
