GreenPeace/GreenPolice: Black Bloc Communique

A communique from parts of the Black Bloc at the COP15. This version is readable.
This communique was given out by a portion of the Black Bloc during the march to the Bella Centre on Saturday at the protests against the U.N. COP-15. Shortly after releasing this communique, windows of the Danish stock exchange and Foreign Ministry were broken. When the police attempted arrests, the Black Bloc was physically prevented by some members of Climate Justice Action from joining the "System Change Not Climate Change" bloc. While the COP15 is over, the debate over the role of internal policing and the "non-violence" code of Climate Justice Action has just begun in the European autonomous movements.
Amongst thousands of people who want to save the world, we are getting together to march to the Bella Centre, but something feels wrong. The slogans just seem too familiar. "Traditional wisdom and new technology must go hand in hand." Haven't we been reading them on the ads all over town?
Everyone is playing their role in the summit, just like in a movie. And there are even different versions of the same stage, distinguished mostly by their budgets. The building of the Klimaforum resembles a space station mixed together with a contemporary art museum. Amongst the graffiti, drugs and reggae music in Christiania, the dream is cheaper but more entertaining. Inside the perfectly sterile and opulent Bella Centre, the NGOs are working hard with the delegates on a treaty to rescue us all. Outside, the same faces tell us on loudspeakers to apply "political pressure" to influence the negotiations.
There seems to be a common logic between the government delegates, the NGOs who control the march, and even the radical ecological activists: we are all saving humanity together. Who would not want to fight for this? And even if you did not, do you even have a choice? No one seems to have the time to take a pause and think about what we are supposed to save, what humanity means. What does it imply to have faith in the existence of a single political unit that binds us all together? In the united and pacified world imagined in Copenhagen, politics become obsolete. What if the mobilization of the entire city and even the protests were nothing but an immense peacekeeping operation?
In times of war, there is a call for submission behind every call for unity. Everyone agrees that capitalism is in crisis, that the previous forms of management will not suffice. This summit may be the most obvious sign yet of the shape of the management to come, where everyone's contribution is obligatory. This step could be described as social engineering. An utopian attempt to produce an entirely controlled life, a totally calculable existence by making us forget that some struggles cannot be reduced to power games, that sometimes friendships are more than just economics. This living excess cannot be described but can only be experienced. What can be described though is how this operation functions: our living is first fragmented into several quantifiable bits and pieces and then resold to us as the real thing. "Hope in a bottle".
The enthusiasm with which all political stripes have been converted to ecology teaches us about the true nature of this new green universal religion. From the heart of the Bella Centre to the most passionate of activists, beyond all differences in tone, one can hear the single and only call to submit yourself. To sacrifice everything that makes life worth living in the name of life itself. To adjourn the present to save the future. To control our desires, and most of all, to not disturb the delicate equilibrium. Ecology presupposes the same conception of existence that characterizes the police: danger is everywhere, and first of all, in ourselves.
When the success of this summit depends on the participation of the population in every city centre,
WHERE DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD GO?
And if police, in all its forms, is the new essence of global politics,
WHAT DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD DO?

And by the way
The mass arrest from the police took about 20 seconds in wich everyone ran away. Noone was prevented from entering the CJA block 500 meters ahead since that was far from the mass arrest it took a while for anyone up there to notice it. Once again. Where the authors of the document even there? It seems you're rewriting history to fit your illusion about the bad and the worse protesters.
Great! If it isn't dressed black and smashing windows...
It is necessarily part of a global alliance against real dissent.
Bullshit!
There was a great diversity in the demonstration and plenty of people such as the entire CJA for example who where against the rule and hegemony of major NGO's. There were plenty of people who signified an antagonist relationship with corporations for example.
It is true however that we need to circumnavigate the state now and go beyond appealpolitics, but I think a lot people in the CJA agrees to this. Your attempt to pose as the only true anarchist is obsolete.
Black block greetings
What the hell are you complaining about? Nothing unusually happened - it was all like any other demo!! The black block participated, but did not show its true militans in any way. What strike us as militants from abroad is the totally acceptence from the Danish leftwing towards the state conform set up of the socalled protests. Instead of critisizing the demonstration guards from the reformist trade unions, who worked together with the police, you scream and whine against a passive and loosly organized black block.
What 'total acceptance'.
That is complete and utter bullshit!
Climate Justice Action and Climate Justice Now! co-organised the block called 'System change not climate change' and it was emphasised and reemphasised over and over again that we participated on our own terms and did NOT take part in any of the communication from the big NGO's and we did not want to have anything to do with the gaurds and the way the way they coporated with the police in our block.
You are (at best) misinformed!
Climate Justice Action and Climate Justice Now! co-organised the block called 'System change not climate change' and it was emphasised and reemphasised over and over again that we participated on our own terms and did NOT take part in any of the communication from the big NGO's and we did not want to have anything to do with the 'demo-guards' and the way the way they coporated with the police in our block.
Your statement is based on ignorance. You clearly lack insight into how parts of the leftwing on networks such as the CJA has dealt with this demonstration. You might also be disinterested as fuck...what do I know.
Furthermore your sense of reality seems to be completely non-existant when you claim that people are only focusing on blaming the black bloc. Absolute nonsense! Almost everyone, the big non-progressive NGO's included focused almost entirely on blaming the police.
Your claim apparantly is that CJA took part in an absurd theater, but I think you are the one who is trying to play a role. It just doesn't fit reality.
Yawn...
The time for hoodies to throw stone at windows is at night.
The time for marching (without weapons or some other show of force) is over.
hey
take our resistance underground, even more. burn the fucking banks...at night, like our comrade above stated. i agree the "left" in Copenhagen are apologist sounding, although i hear the anarchists in central Copenhagen helped out with space and support, so perhaps not good to say all "the left", if at all anarchists even are "left", when you consider their stance.
Anyway. fight on, with all our tactics. let us not bicker. remember our enemies want us to fall out.
f
I think it is very nice that LS call themselves libertarian socialists, that way they wont get mistaken for anarchists.
Huh?
@f
You might want to explain why you are mentioning LS, as they aren't mentioned in the "communique". And you might also want to explain, why you don't think that LS are anarchist, and why libertarian socialism isn't anarchist.
If you want to make sense, that is.
...
I am agreed with main text/article. where we should go? toward sabotage and guerrilla attacks against system. time of peaceful demos is finished, every country in EU is more and more dictatorship (spying, preventive arrests, beating, etc: remember Genoa 2001 and Gothenburg and now Copenhagen - nobody made connections and analyze between these 3 demos and repressions, everything is repeating in the same way) and history showed that against dictatorship people can fight only with secret attacks: sabotages and guerrilla attacks.
Damn vanguards
Why don't you just go form a f*cking vanguard party then? It really worked great elsewhere.
Time to change tactics
I completely appreciate that anarchy eschews hierarchy and leaders; I also think that while we are in a transition phase, people who are used to being led will not fare very well under anarchist-like conditions initially; also, given the piss poor reputation that anarchism has in the popular imagination, espousing the virtues of anarchy and affinity grouping is unlikely to mean much in practical terms for the many in a critical mass that we need to start waking people up to.
So, I'd propose:
(1) we need to start gathering together materials and information to assist people shifting from the business-as-usual framework to alternatives, towards anarchist groupings and a decarbonized life.
(2) we up the demonstration ante ... politicians don't need to stress our protests that are so polite and reserved: they are no threat so why would the politicos worry? We should start demonstrating that we are serious, not merely going for a walk from A to B while shouting slogans.
...
question: Why don't you just go form a f*cking vanguard party then? It really worked great elsewhere.
answer: why you don't go to your f*cking secret agency who benefit from your acting for them?
for political idiots: vanguard exist when someone make revolution in the name of others; armed or militant resistance against present repression has nothing with vanguard (armed guerrilla in Greece never gave statement that they make resistance in the name of society, it is the same with our guerrilla in S.America). everybody should decide alone for whom are working those who try to keep people under control: therefore they speak so much against militants.

BAKKA BAKKA BAKKA!
For the love of f*. You had the freedom to do whatever you wanted during the march except fuck it up for the rest of us which is exactly what you did.
If you wanted to have your own demonstration - Fine. If you wanted to break windows - Fine. Just do it on your own turf and stop luring the police towards the rest of us in a easy to predict rehearsed re inaction of all major summit protests so far.
The NTAC communicated that the black block didn't want to participate in the 'reformist' demonstration? Why do you need the shelter of the people you are directly opposed to?
Your tactics are boring as fuck. The police overreacted to your actions and they are the bigger enemy here. Everyone in the march, even the big NGO's agreed on this fact. Why do you insist on creating diversity by defending tactics that so obviuosly failed on the 12th of December? Where the writers of this communique even there?
