Den forhenværende moderatorgruppe på Indymedia.dk er blevet gjort opmærksomme på, at vi og især omtalte E.S. i en artikel i Jyllandsposten d. 4. september 2011 er blevet kædet sammen med et vanvittigt manifest uploadet af en for os ukendt bruger under pseudonymet "anacon" her på siden i december 2010. Det er os magtpåliggende at understrege, at en sådan kobling er helt og aldeles Jyllandspostens fiktion, og at vi tager skarpt afstand fra det.

Indymedia.dk er en åben platform for græsrodsjournalistik med minimal moderation, hvor folk frit kan lægge deres egne tekster op og kommentere på andres. Indymedia.dk er ikke en hjemmeside med en fast redaktion, der selv producerer materiale. Der findes således tekster med mange forskellige standpunkter på Indymedia, og mange af dem strider lodret mod hinanden. At en tekst er udgivet på Indymedia indebærer altså ikke, at sidens moderatorer synes om indholdet, lige så lidt som Urban står inde for alt, hvad der skrives på deres offentlige blog-system.

Indymedia har været stort set helt inaktiv de sidste tre-fire år – på nær en kort opblomstring i forbindelse med klimatopmødet i 2009 – og er efterfølgende ikke blevet modereret noget videre, hvilket også ses ved de store mængder uslettet spam på siden. Den eneste moderation har bestået i at fjerne decideret personskadelige/ulovlige tekster, når sådanne blev lagt op, samt at forfremme særligt gode artikler til forsiden, men selv denne moderation har ikke været aktiv siden 2009.

Når det af Jyllandsposten omtalte indhold fra december 2010 ikke er blevet fjernet, skyldes det altså generel inaktivitet og ikke på nogen måde sympati for indholdet. Vi overvejer p.t. helt at lukke siden ned for at forhindre, at vi igen skal kobles sammen med, hvad tilfældige brugere skriver.

Sadly, many people have lost livelihoods and can't afford even that initial interest rate. I lost my job, but was fortunate enough to kind have foreseen that it might happen, and kept myself from jumping on the home-buying bandwagon. When my income plummeted, I moved into an apartment that cost half in rent what my then-apartment cost, because I knew I wouldn't be able to afford to keep paying that high rent.

It's sad to lose your home because you can no longer afford it, but that is what happens when you lose your income. It only becomes criminal when the reason you can no longer afford it is because you were suckered into an ARM that has ballooned beyond what you have the ability to pay even with the same job and income.

I would love to see the people on the money-making side pay some sort of price for what they caused, but I'm pragmatic enough to realize that if it happens, it won't be on this side of life, but on the other side.

This has nothing to do with Obama or the federal government. It's a settlement between the banks and various state attorneys general who bought lawsuits against the banks. Maybe you should try reading the article before you start griping?

What should we do for homeowners who have lost their jobs?
12 months forebearance on mortgage payments seems to be about the most generous reasonable thing we can do. If someone can't find a new job after 12 months, maybe their old job was more of a fluke?
E.g., someone that worked in construction during the boom can't find another construction job.
People should have a minimum of 6 months savings as well.
