Fra idag,onsdag den 16. april, strejker omkring 100.000 offentligt ansatte organiseret i Sundhedskartellet sammen med en række andre faggrupper. Kravet er bedre løn og arbejdsvilkår. Flere spontane strejker blandt grupper af pædagoger og social- og sundhedsarbejdere rundt om i landet har sluttet sig til den regulære overenskomstkamp. Imorgen, torsdag, den 17.april, arrangerer de strejkendes organisationer en fælles demonstration i København med kravene: Spræng regeringens lønramme - Mere i løn,ligeløn!

Pædagoger demonstrere foran BUPLs hovedkontor i København

*Torsdag den 17. april kl.13.00: Fælles demonstration for samtlige faggrupper i Sundhedskartellet på Christiansborg Slotsplads. Fordemo på Palæstinas/Israels Plads kl.12 Arr.: Sundhedskartellet *100-året for kvinders valgret. Søndag den 20. april kl. 15.00: Frederiksberg Rådhus. Demo fra Frederiksberg Rådhus til Københavns Rådhus. LFS og FOA vil markere, at selvom loven om ligeløn har eksisteret i mere end 20 år, halter kvinders løn stadig efter mændenes. Fagforeningspampere udtaler sig imod strejken

I dagbladene Berlingske Tidende og Politiken kunne man læse i går at flere fagforeningsledere håber på at strejken resulterer i en fiasko for de strejkende fagforbunde.

På spørgsmålet om strejken vil blive gennemført med succes, svarer for eksempel Bodil Otto, formand for HK/Kommunal til Berlingske Tidende, at "...Det håber jeg saftsuseme ikke, de gør. Det kan man ikke holde til politisk, for så bliver der ballade. Der kommer en overenskomstfornyelse efter den her, og sådan noget bliver ikke glemt."
