8 baskiske venstrefløjsaktivister blev igår, den 25. marts 09, løsladt efter at have tilbragt to måneder i fængsel. Deres forseelse var, at de opstillede som kandidater for den baskiske uafhængighedsliste "D3M" ifm. regionalvalget den 1. marts i år. Efter en anmodning fra den berygtede dommer Baltasar Garzón fra særdomstolen "Audiencia Nacional" blev de otte anholdt og fængslet en grå januarmorgen. Den 2. instans i særdomstolen har efter massive protester fra store dele af den baskiske befolkning foreløbigt besluttet at løslade de fængslede kandidater mod en kaution på 42.000 kr.

"Deres eneste "forbrydelse" består i, at de har opstillet til regionalvalget i marts. Når personer fra det venstreorienterede spektrum af uafhængighedsbevægelsen beslutter sig til sådan et engagement, er det en klar sag for dommeren Baltasar Garzón, at de følger ETAs ordrer. Noget som helst belæg herfor findes ikke, men hvem interesserer det?", skrev det baskiske dagblad GARA i forbindelse med anholdelsen.

Over 100.000 stemte på den forbudte venstrefløjsliste

En lang række husransagninger og anholdelser gik forud for forbuddet mod venstrefløjsvalglisten D3M, der blev grundlagt i januar 2009. Forbuddet blev trumfet igennem i en hastesag umiddelbart før valget til det regionale baskiske parlament. Dermed forhindrede domstolen den baskiske venstrefløj i at opnå en sikker parlamentarisk præsentation som alternativ til det konservative-nationalistiske og det socialdemokratiske parlamentsflertal.

På trods af anholdelserne af listens spidskandidater og et politiapparat, der lavede klapjagt på D3Ms aktivister samt en bred anlagt hetskampagne mod "terroristsympatisørerne", fulgte over 100.000 vælgere valglistens opråb. De stemte på det forbudte D3M og dokumenterede på denne måde den store opbakning til venstreoppositionen.

Baskerlandets politiske fanger

Som alle de andre 750 politiske fanger fra hele den baskiske venstrefløj, blev også de otte D3M-kandidater ( Ampara Lasheras, Iñaki Olalde, Arantza Urkaregi,Imanol Nieto, Eli Zubiaga, Iker Rodrigo, Hodei Egaña og Agurtzane Solaberrieta) underkastet den spanske stats politik om " spredning af de baskiske fanger". De blev fordelt i hele Spanien - op til 800 km borte fra deres familie og venner i Baskerlandet. Det er ikke svært at forestille sig de store forhindringer, det betyder for de enkelte familier ift. fængselsbesøg og ikke mindst for advokaternes i forvejen så vanskelige vilkår. For de baskiske advokatkollektiver er det en stor logistisk udfordring at koordinere et fælles forsvar, fordi hvert enkelt besøg er ensbetydende med mega lange transporttider og økonomiske omkostninger. Dertil kommer, at de baskiske fanger målrettet isoleres fra hinanden: Det er del af politiets strategi for at underminere den enkelte fanges moral og selvværd.

Ny processer forberedes

Den baskiske kriminaliseringstruede fangehjælpsorganisation Pro Amnistia henviser til den stort anlagte statslige repression mod de mange baskiske aktivister, der enten engagerer sig i politiske organisationer eller i sociale bevægelser, som i de sidste år er blevet kriminaliseret og dømt til sammenlagt hundrede vis af års fængsel af en dertil oprettet særdomstol "Audiencia Nacional".

For et par dage siden, den 23. marts 2009, offentliggjorde dommer Baltasar Garzón et nyt anklageskrift mod 44 baskiske venstrefløjsaktivister. De anklages for "medlemsskab af en terroristisk forening". I hans 741-siders anklageskrift drejer det sig, ifølge Pro Amnistias advokatråds gennemgang af dokumentet, om så sprængfarlige aktiviteter som organisering og gennemførelse af offentlige politiske møder, åbne pressekonferencer, valgmøder og anmeldte demonstrationer... En del af aktivisterne er "foreløbigt fængslet" - altså uden konkret anklage... Det demokratiske Juristforbund i EUropa har på den baggrund krævet en opløsning af netop denne særdomstol. Indtil videre forgæves.

OBS. Det ville være en oplagt sag for den parlamentariske venstrefløj i EU-parlamentet deriblandt Folkebevægelsen mod EU, at følge dette udmærkede initiativ fra Det demokratiske Juristforbund op i Brüssel og Strassburg.
